The Lineup

How It Works

We begin by handing out wireless keypads. Once everyone in your audience is ‘wired-in’ to play, this exciting game is ready to begin! ESP anonymously surveys your audience’s opinions on a variety of subjects and then quizzes your participants on the results of each survey question.

Game Play

A question flashes across the screen and each participant is directed to enter in the answer that best applies.

After hearing a sample of Beyonce’s new single, will you go out and buy the album?
A. Most Definitely!
B. Not my cup of tea.
C. I’ll download it off the Internet.

Once the participants anonymously enter in their answer, then a follow-up question is posed:

What percent of the audience chose answer A. Most Definitely!
A. 0 - 25%
B. 26 - 50%
C. 51 - 75%
D. 76 - 100%

The follow up question tests your audience on social norms, or, what they think they know. Because the ESP software stored the anonymous answers from the survey question, it is now able to calculate how closely each team answered correctly in the follow up question. The software distributes more points to those teams that answered correctly and fewer points to those teams that did not. For example, in the follow up question, if you chose C. 51 – 76% but the actual answer is 88%, or D, then your team will be given fewer points than those teams that chose the correct answer, D.

The participants continue through three rounds, eight questions per round, until there are three remaining. Those three top-scoring teams face their peers and are eliminated one by one until there is only one. The winning team has proven without a shadow of a doubt to be the most intuitive, and most aware of the social environment. The ESP champion team will then be awarded the final game prize.
