FreeStyle VDC

What happens when you combine up to 40 students with a freestyle dance competition, wireless remotes, custom integrated FSVDC software, a live video feed to two 20' diagonal screens, massive pro Mackie sound, technical affects with intelligent lighting, a shamelessly beautiful championship trophy and $300 prize? "FOR CLARITY, PLEASE WATCH VIDEO OF FREESTYLE VDC"

This is a "take it to the bank" very cool interactive show from TjohnE Productions. Video dance parties are cool, but when advertised to start at 11:00 PM, they typically don't have bodies in motion till long after. Our way to avoid this is to start the show with a freestyle dance competition, that finishes with the dance party. Should you start your event at 10 or 11 PM, the entire room will be filled from the beginning. Everyone breathing o2 on planet Earth knows that students support students, especially in a talent contest. They'll come out to see who's got the best, and yes even the worst moves on campus.

How it works?

ROUND #1 TThe number 20 is where we start. We'll wirelessly connect up to 20 students to judge the dance moves. These student judges will simply follow the directions on one of our huge screens, and give grades to the competitors (bring a few professors/teachers in to judge, especially if your college has a theater or dance department).

Up to 20 students can compete for the championship prize of $300 and the most awesome trophy. . . We'll organize the students in four groups of 5 dancers. We'll start the competition with group 1. Each of the 5 competitors will have 25 seconds to show their freestyle moves. After all 5 have danced, we'll bring 'em all back to face the judges to receive their scores. The best of the 5 freestyle dancers, as voted by the judges, moves on to Round 2.

ROUND #2 We now have the top 4 freestyle dancers remaining in the competition. At this stage of the competition we'll put them in two groups of 2. Each student must now dance for the entire 35 seconds. As in the first round, once each of the 2 competitors have completed their moves, they'll face the judges for the verdict. When Round 2 is completed, you'll have the 2 best freestyle dancers selected to compete in the final for the championship.

THE FINAL ROUND: Wow, what a build up, huh? In a just a few more minutes, one of these students will be crowned the "Freestyle Champion of the World", or at least your college that night. For the final round, each freestyle dancer must dance for an entire 50 seconds. As in the first 2 preliminary rounds, after each has completed 50 seconds of fabulous free styling, they'll face the judges for the final time.

The anticipating is killing me, you too? Before we show the results, we ask all 20 of the student competitors to return to the dance floor one more time. With music roaring and all the free stylers surrounding the final 2 competitors, we'll display the scores and crown the champion freestyle dancer. We won't ask the champ to say a few words, after all this is a dance competition, but if you want, we'll accommodate you.

VIDEO DANCE PARTY: With 20 freestyle competitors on the floor and a heartfelt invitation from our host to all attending, we'll seamlessly turn this event into a high tech, video dance party. Rock in dudes!!

CELEBRITY OPTION: We offer co-hosting and workshops with a professional freestyle dancer for your event. Please call the office for pricing and availability of dancers. This semester we're offering Lamonte "Tails" (video enclosed).
